Hide and Go Seek

What a whirlwind week!

Sherry Turkle's Reclaiming Conversation provided a scrumptious quote to savor over our week.

Reoccurring Thought

Mr. River's Origami Club continued to soar.

In math we did a scavenger hunt for fractions. You could do the same at home. For example, we asked what portion of lights in the hallway are safety lights? What portion of large water bottles are in use? Whatever you try, be sure to get the number simplified.

Penciling it out

Our weekly homeroom talk used Dr. Seuss' Bartholomew and the Oobleck to exercise thoughts on the nature of greed and desire, the nature of authority (with a nod to the French Revolution), the environment, and responsibility.

Expect to hear about robots soon.

Great news! We will have a learning retreat (i.e. field trip) to Kangaba on Tuesday June 6. At the retreat, along with 4th and 5th grade, we will conduct team building activities and have discussions about strategies for summer learning. More information was sent home with your child.

That's all for now.

Enjoy your weekend,
